Do you know your Business Blog ABC’s ?
As the online WWW community keeps updating, formatting, searching, pushing the envelope with techniques and new Q’s to take in, are you ready? Does the mere thought of blogging about your business, informational topics or products give you the willies? Does your page look blank after 5 minutes of thoughtful thinking? Let’s start at the beginning and make it a routine project with a few simple ABC’s.
I’ve talked about “why branding” has an impact, on the movement of your business, in a few of my blogs and as you continue to build your online business you will want to add more marketing tools. Now I’d like to share how valuable adding a blog, as a marketing tool, is beneficial in the social networking community. What I’d like to share with you is a few suggestions on expanding your ABC’s for Blogging Content.
ABC: Always Be Creating. Content in blogging keeps your audience tuned into what you are talking about. Look around your social network and find that special something, whether it’s informational or an actual product, that you can bring to the forefront in your blog. You don’t have to be a wordy nerd, but you do need something that will enhance or entertain the lives of your audience. Suggestion: What drives you to succeed in business? What is the best attribute of your product(s) that makes it stand out from others in the same venue?
ABC: Always Be Clicking. Use that “LIKE” button on Facebook, be supportive of businesses and friends you know are in your social network. Numbers are nothing without being noticed. Expand out, don’t keep yourself in the same venue, you won’t stand out, if you are sitting in the same circle day after day. That “click” says a lot about the person behind it. Pay attention, respond and soon you will have a growing network that will follow your business and topics of interest.
ABC: Always Be Commenting. Did you know that “Conversation” is the driving force behind content building of your blog, and in your community? Without talking to your peers, your friends and your audience, you miss out on what’s actually going on in the community around you. Bringing that conversation of interest to your blog causes two things to happen; interest and interaction. Conversation stirs the soul and actually, I want to read something I didn’t know about your business or product. Keep up with what’s going on in your industry and let others know that you exist by bringing intelligent comments to their thoughts, questions and ideas.
ABC: Answer Beneficial Content. By this I mean, what pushes you to want to comment, help, or to further push the topic? Give good feedback to those that want your input or ask for information. Those are the people that will embrace you and help you push outward in the social network community. Cherish the circle you create as it will go with you and grow with you.
Blogging for Content is a never ending roll you will play in marketing your business and building a presence within the social networking community. It is rewarding within itself. Remember to publish to online papers that will pick you up and connect you even further.
Now it’s up to you to think about what other “ABC’s” you can share while building that communication, friendship and content among your peers and business associates; while taking your business to the next level.
As a Small Business owner, I’m always interested in what you have to say and how you empower your business and yourself with a blog.
Comments are encouraged. Your business link, always welcome, and yes, link your Blog too!

Great blog post.. good information. I try to always think about what I like as a reader/shopper and I love when people interact… someone who answers their blog comments and interacts on their facebook/twitter is someone I would pick to make a purchase from.. they are showing me that they will be there if I have questions or problems.

Great tips! I would add that ‘scheduling’ posts and adding a tickler to a Google calendar has been a huge asset for writing content rich articles every week which I then schedule twice a month so I stay ahead of schedule. This also allows me time during the interim two weeks for promoting the posts and search for more helpful content to share.

Thanks so much for the added information! Advertising your business is very important and the internet has many options to do this. Most marketing advisers agree that putting out the word in your tickler or calender to keep you on top of scheduling your updates. Great suggestion. I have found that advance scheduling with some programs do expire, some without warning. Again, thanks for your input and feedback. We all benefit by sharing 🙂

Thank you very much for a super informative writeup filled with very good info! We are trying to build a customer base also and recently began to work on branding by stamping the name of our company on our product so, if they lose the paperwork, the customer can still find us. Your blog reinforced our determination to grow our business.
I’ll definitely research to find out how to link my blog to others. Thank you again.

Penni Jo,
My suggestion is to branch out, sign up for programs that will promote your links and do make your blog, every back-link (person or page that can link back to your website or products is getting the word out) and keep it active at least twice a week. Search for online papers that you can write one or two paragraphs and link your website. Hope this helps. 🙂

Thank you, Jodie. Adding content to your business blog gets your products out in the SEO’s. Keep it simple, what is it about the product that would inspire the buyer? What inspired you about the product? What uses can the product provide the buyer? Standing outside the box, you can do your store proud, when you view it as a buyer. I look forward to reading more of your blog. 🙂
